Where are you located?

The office address is 1220 North Alma Drive in Allen, TX. We are on the northeast corner of Alma and Exchange Parkway, just north of the CVS pharmacy.

What are your office hours?

We are open Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. We are closed for lunch from 12:30pm to 1:45pm. Patients who require appointments at other times may be accommodated on a case-by-case basis.

What ages of patients do you see?

We see patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly.

Do I need to be fasting for lab work?

It depends.  You should fast if we are checking your blood sugar and/or cholesterol. For most other tests, you don’t need to fast. If you do need to fast, you shouldn’t eat or drink anything except water for eight hours prior to your appointment. You can (and should) drink water and take your medications as usual unless instructed otherwise.

Is Dr. Carruthers board certified?

Dr. Carruthers was board certified by the American Board of Family Practice in 1998 and was re-certified in 2004.

Dr. Carruthers is on the staff of Presbyterian Hospital of Plano and Medical Center of Plano.

How do I reach Dr. Carruthers when the office is closed?

Call the main office number, (972) 852-1534, and follow the instructions on the recorded message. If you are having a medical emergency, you should call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest hospital.
